Southern New York Association is an
organization of over sixty residential health care
facilities, both voluntary and proprietary, with
approximately 16,000 beds in the southern New York area
including New York City, Westchester and Long Island.
Southern New York Association focuses on the preparation
of the long term care community for the ever-changing
platform that is health care delivery in New York.
Through its advocacy, education and compliance programs,
SNYA members are continually updated in operational
methodologies and care techniques applicable to the
effective, economical and compassionate provision of
long-term care.
SNYA emphasizes and facilitates interfacing with
community groups, regulatory agencies and other
organizations that hold similar interests in the
enhancing of care and services to the institutionalized
elderly.
Through its legislative interfacing and initiatives,
SNYA keeps the issues that are vital to its membership
in front of the NY State Legislators with the power to
affect change.
Via newsletters and other written communications as well
as a state-of-the-art interactive website, SNYA
disseminates updates on regulatory issues and other key
matters.
SNYA conducts at least 4 full-day educational programs
throughout the year that focus on administrative,
regulatory and clinical topics, providing an average of
24 Continuing Education Credits for Licensed Nursing
Home Administrators.
With an experienced grants writer on staff, SNYA has
been the recipient of numerous private and New York
State Department of Health Grants related to clinical
care criteria/disease management and staffing
recruitment and retention programs. SNYA actively seeks
the procurement of grant funding related to the
improvement of services and quality of care in member
facilities.
