Southern New York Association is a
Certified Sponsor of professional continuing education
with the National Association of Boards of Examiners of
Long Term Care Administrators (NAB) and certifies that
all programs meets NAB/NCERS guidelines and the
requisite approval of required hours for continuing
education clock hours. State licensure boards, however,
have final authority on the acceptance of individual
courses.
SNYA sponsors seminars throughout the year for the
member facilities and the general public, on a range of
topics relevant to current issues in long term care.
These seminars include topics related to regulatory
compliance with federal, state and city regulations,
quality assurance and improvement programs, NYSDOH and
Federal survey finding and updates, reimbursement and
other topics as needed. SNYA sponsors an annual seminar,
in cooperation with the Human Resources Administration/
Medical Insurance & Community Services
Administration (MICSA), Nursing Home Eligibility
Division. Speakers from City and State Department of
Health participate in this annual event.
